It's my favourite song of Hot Chocolate. I can't stop to listen to this great song. I have seen Hot Chocolate at a live concert near my hometown and it was great.

I never knew that Hot Chocolate recorded this first. I like this version too...but the version by Stories is near and dear to my heart. However-I've always been a little bit disturbed by the reference "ain't no difference if you're black or white...brothers, you know what I mean." Does the "brothers, you know what I mean" line another way of saying...ahem--"it's all PINK in the inside?" Hey...I'm just asking,that's all.

Which version you prefer all depends on which one is the one you knew first. For me 'The Chocs' version from the Summer of '73 was the best. Reminds me of being seven years old and getting into pop music for the first time. In the UK this band were very close to our hearts for may years. Errol Brown was a fantastic singer and fromtman to this band!! They are very underated. Grea music and one of the first multi cultural sucessful bands on a long ter basis. Respect to Hot Chocolate!

only 9 years old when this was making it big,
but even then I got the message,I had not heard it for quite a while (or indeed any other Hot Chocholate) songs.The first time I
played this on You Tube it awakened something
inside me which had been asleep for a long long time.I got cold shivers running down my
Neck and Back.My Mam and Dad went to see them
live at Stockton's Club Fiesta in 1975 and said they were fucking awesome.Thanx for upload.

I remember when this dropped when I was a school boy in west London. This tune is as interesting as it is hot. I mean, it's about a WHITE boy with a BLACK girl and the scene in London at my school was Black men could go with WHITE girls but NOT the other way around - the patriachal dimension to racism?. Also listen to tune the voice of parents are English for the White Man Family and Afro American for the Black Woman Family, why not a JA (Singer is JA)or caribbean accent who are black pop of UK?
