Sarah Palin's odd religious sect should NOT be a test of public office as she runs for Vice President, but given that John McCain and Sarah Palin have already made Palin's religion a campaign issue, it's a valid topic for public consideration (not as an electoral factor). The Wasilla Assemblies of God is holding, in one week, what it calls a Masters Commission in which prophecies for God and Alaska and the United States will be discussed. It seems that the church's leaders claim that God is "invading" Alaska and say that Wasilla is the key to God's plans for the entire world. It's hard to conclude that they are not talking about Sarah Palin's vice presidential campaign.

You are making absurdly gross generalizations when you say "republicans accept everybody for who they are" and when you cite two democrats as being representative of the millions. I'm talking about trend. For what it's worth, I'm a democrat atheist and I certainly don't scorn you.

i gave you 2 well known examples.
i never scorned you or anyone for lack of religion. but i had many dems tell me i was a liar because i told them i was an atheist republican.
republicans do accept people as they are whether you beleive it or not
i am talking facts not trends, trends /fads are worthless to know just like slang. i stick to english and facts not trends/fads or asumptions.

We're talking about hundreds of millions of people! "Facts" about the ideas and behavior summarized and distilled from a hundred million people are scarce; trends and averages are all there are. You can't say that "republicans accept everybody for who they are" and expect it to apply with some kind of universality. All I'm saying is I've met far more Republicans who were bigots then I have Republicans who weren't. How can you deny something so simple and unrelated to your experience?

see it is all how you perceive things.
you perceive republicans as bigots as that is how you want them .but befor i ask people how they vote. the ask other questions.
i base my facts on history not trends of a few years. and history proves that the democratic party was started to keep slaves slaves. the kkk was started by a democrat.

buster I was discriminated against by republicans in three countries: The USA, China and Cambodia. There are plenty of Republicans who discriminate just as I'm sure there are plenty of Democrats who discriminate. So I'm not quite sure what you mean by "facts". It sounds to me like you are just speaking from your own personal experience (just as I am) which, obviously, is just a tiny part of the whole story.

Alaska has become a sanctuary for fundamenatlist religions including the rather wacko New Apostolic Reformation. These people believe that the "End of Days" is coming soon and that Alaska will be the last sanctuary of believers. This video seems to reinforce that idea. They are recruiting young people by the hundreds for Joels' Army which would be the army of God that takes over world governments.

I'm a Pentecostal pastor, and in the past, I've also been a Pentecostal missionary and Pentecostal Bible College instructor -- I agree, Wasilla AoG is a "different" church (definately not "mainstream Pentecostal"), but you need to recheck what you pass on to the viewers as "facts". You certainly don't speak for the Pentecostal Movement, and many of your comments concerning the Assemblies of God, what they believe, are either outright wrong, or are lies you're espousing.

HocketDet- Wasilla AofG isn't Gov Palin's church anymore. She left about 6 years ago. She visits & speaks there, but there's no evidence she espouses the extreme things that goes on there. I read she left because she disagreed with things there. It may be the things we see in this video. What Wasilla AofG seems to be in is Rick Joyner's stuff, which is NOT good, so I hope she repudiates the Joyner errors & problems. I have no reason she does believe in what her former church is doing now, anyway

when people gather together to worship- someone is actually suppose to have a word of prophecy! (1 cor 14). Many people have also prophesied when the holy spirit fell on them (acts 19).
It is a totally rad gift of the spirit. If it is not in the church you attend, maybe find one that believes in all of the bible-eh.

shabbah4life-The Bible in 1 Cor 13 does NOT teach someone SUPPOSE to have a prophecy. Paul wrote for WHEN they do, and since Corinthian church claimed supernatural gifts in practice, he wrote on what should & shouldn't happen. Sound biblical teaching & sound Christians in doctrine & practice is what is needed today. If you are being taught that someone SHOULD prophecy in every meeting, that is unbiblical. Please examine things by the Bible & evidence, not experiences-Acts 17:11
