make no mistake that the holocaust was a catastrophic even in history, but to compare slavery & the holocaust is idiotic. There are factors in both events that vary. However to point out the timeline in which the events occured is also idiotic. Whether it happened two weeks ago or two hundred years ago, it still happened. Also, I can bet you that there is a rabbi "ranting" about the holocaust..just so happens the rabbi doesnt have a former temple member running for president... He Won get overit

Like most who post a question in supposition, I doubt that you will be back to find the answer which you seek, but the answer is beautifully simple. Even in your supposition you readily admit that he does not say ALL Rich white people. In fact he speaks to institutions, and existing realities, whereas you speak in absolutes, and groups. I will readily admit that his delivery leaves the opportunity for whites to feel offended, but the truth within the words cannot be denied.

2connection1, i am not here to defend Jeremiah Wright because i disagreed with his preaching of politics but he made a valid point about the past racial oppression against the blacks. It also took him 60+ yrs before he made a breakthrough into living a rich white neighborhood house so whats wrong with that?

1) What crosses were burned in TUCC? What comments did Rev. Wright make that were racially hateful? "America" does not mean "white people". If you think that it just says something about what you think about America.
2) Ronald Reagan was actively racist. He was not fully in favor of Civil Rights and he pulled the infamous "southern strategy" to win the southern racist Republican vote. He also enacted laws which increased policing of urban black neighborhoods.

1) 1 out of every 5 black Americans is middle-income. Thank you very much.
2) Outsourcing industrialism and war profiteering largely built the American economy. Not to mention slavery.
3) The vast social programs of FDR's New Deal is what built the white American middle class. White Americans didn't "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps". That's bullshit mythology that people who climb a ladder and knock it out from under them tell themselves to feel good at night.
